Water Purification & Water Filters

Whether You’re on City Water or a Well, We Can Purify Your Water

Water is absolutely critical for our survival as a species. We can live about a month without food, but only about a week without water. Water is essential for proper circulation and leads us to overall better health by flushing out wastes that can cause disease.

Since access to clean water is so important to us, implementing water purification methods is very important. After all, there are more than 2,100 water contaminants that may be present in our tap and well water!

Improve My Water Quality

Types of Water Filters

One way to remove contaminants in our water supply is to use a water filter. Water filters are able to remove more impurities than any other purification method, while still retaining healthy trace minerals in the water. There are two types of carbon filters available to purify well water: carbon block filters and granulated activated carbon filters.

Carbon block filters contain pulverized carbon that is shaped into blocks. They remove several contaminants such as lead, mercury and asbestos. The effectiveness partly relies on how fast water runs through them.

Granulated activated carbon filters contain fine grains of activated carbon that also remove pollutants like mercury and lead.

Another type of water filter is a ceramic filter. They contain very small holes throughout the material which stop solid contaminants, such as sediments and cysts, but do not remove chemical contaminants. When choosing the best water filter to fit your needs, evaluate the different types of filters that will best suit your situation.

Well Water Filtration

Water filtration systems are another option for removing harsh chemicals from well water. They are efficient in ridding water of viruses, bacteria and mineral contaminants, including calcium, lead, iron and manganese. There are a couple of types of water filtration systems including the process of distillation and the process of reverse osmosis.

  • Distillation uses a heat source to bring the water to its boiling point, causing evaporation but prohibiting water contaminants with a higher boiling point from evaporating. The evaporated water is guided through tubes to a separate container while the contaminants remain in the original container. This method removes minerals, viruses and bacteria.
  • The reverse osmosis system forces water to move from a stronger saline to a weaker solution, through a semipermeable membrane. Since most contaminants in the water are larger than water molecules, the semi-permeable membrane halts minerals, such as lead, calcium, salt, manganese and iron. Reverse osmosis also removes fluoride.
